SIP Grant

About the SIP Grant

Student-Initiated Programs (SIP) introduces K-12 and community college students to the college experience and the possibilities of higher education. Open to all students, including those interested in learning more about college, SIP offers academic enrichment and personalized mentoring from volunteer UC students to help participants build skills, gain confidence, and prepare for success in their academic journey.

Through SIP, UCR registered student organizations can apply for a SIP Grant to secure funding for their outreach activities and events that align with our outreach vision and objectives.

  • Outreach Vision: SIP outreach programs are designed to support K-12 and community college students. Through outreach initiatives, student organizations aim to provide educational support, mentorship, and resources to help students succeed in school and encourage them to further their education.
  • Objectives:
    • Provide access to college-preparation resources for K-12 and community college students
    • Strengthen partnerships with local K-12 schools and community colleges
